Grandmother’s 100-Year-Old Cake Recipe Let’s bake a timeless treat together!
Ingredients:
- 4 eggs

- A pinch of salt for egg whites

- 180g sugar

- 100g room-temperature water

- 130g flour

- 2-3 tbsp cocoa

- 1 tsp baking powder

- 2 eggs, 50g sugar


- 3 tbsp starch

- 150g condensed milk

- 250g milk

- Vanilla extract

- 200g room-temperature butter

- 3 tbsp cocoa, 3 tbsp sugar, 3-4 tbsp sour cream


Instructions:
- Beat egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff.
- Gradually add 180g sugar to egg whites and continue beating.
- Mix egg yolks with 100g water and fold into the egg white mixture.
- Sift in 130g flour, cocoa, and baking powder. Mix until smooth.
- Bake in a 20cm cake pan at 180°C for 40 minutes.
- For the custard, cook 2 eggs, 50g sugar, starch, and condensed milk until thickened. Add 250g milk and vanilla. Cool.
- Cut the cake in half, soak with sweetened milk.
- Blend the cooled custard with 200g butter and sandwich the cake layers.
- Refrigerate for 3-4 hours.
- For the icing, cook cocoa, sugar, and sour cream, then decorate the cake.
