Grandmother’s 100-Year-Old Cake Recipe Let’s bake a timeless treat together!

Ingredients:
  • 4 eggs 🥚
  • A pinch of salt for egg whites 🧂
  • 180g sugar 🍬
  • 100g room-temperature water 🚰
  • 130g flour 🍰
  • 2-3 tbsp cocoa 🍫
  • 1 tsp baking powder 🥄
  • 2 eggs, 50g sugar 🥚🍬
  • 3 tbsp starch 🌾
  • 150g condensed milk 🥛
  • 250g milk 🥛
  • Vanilla extract 🌼
  • 200g room-temperature butter 🧈
  • 3 tbsp cocoa, 3 tbsp sugar, 3-4 tbsp sour cream 🍫🍨
Instructions:
  1. Beat egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff.
  2. Gradually add 180g sugar to egg whites and continue beating.
  3. Mix egg yolks with 100g water and fold into the egg white mixture.
  4. Sift in 130g flour, cocoa, and baking powder. Mix until smooth.
  5. Bake in a 20cm cake pan at 180°C for 40 minutes.
  6. For the custard, cook 2 eggs, 50g sugar, starch, and condensed milk until thickened. Add 250g milk and vanilla. Cool.
  7. Cut the cake in half, soak with sweetened milk.
  8. Blend the cooled custard with 200g butter and sandwich the cake layers.
  9. Refrigerate for 3-4 hours.
  10. For the icing, cook cocoa, sugar, and sour cream, then decorate the cake.
