Components:
Butter with Garlic and Parmesan:
- Half a cup of soft, unsalted butter
- Four tablespoons of Parmesan cheese, grated
- One teaspoon of Italian seasoning
- Half a teaspoon of powdered garlic
- Half a teaspoon of salt
Cheese on a grill:
- Eight substantial, thick slices of bread (Italian or sourdough)
- 1½ cups of mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Half a cup of marinara sauce or pizza
- 24 thin pepperoni slices.
Getting ready:
- A big skillet or griddle should be warmed over medium-low heat.
- Put the butter, Parmesan, salt, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning in a bowl.
- On one side of four pieces of bread, spread half of the butter mixture. Put them in the skillet buttered side down.
- Top each slice with 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce, followed by 6 pepperoni slices, ¼ cup of mozzarella, and the remaining mozzarella.
- Place the remaining bread slices, sauce side down, on top of the cheese after spreading them with sauce. Cover with the remaining garlic butter.
- Cook until golden brown and cheese is melted, 3 to 4 minutes per side.
- Serve with extra pizza sauce, cut in half, and let cool somewhat.
- Savor this rich and cheesy take on a traditional grilled cheese.
Have fun!
