Hash brown Casserole with Sausage
Ingredients
- One pound of breakfast sausage, of your choosing
- One medium onion, chopped
- One 30-oz package of thawed frozen hash browns
- Two cups of cheddar cheese, shredded
- One cup of sour cream
- Four big eggs
- One cup of milk
- One teaspoon of garlic powder
- One teaspoon of salt
- Half a teaspoon of black pepper
- ½ teaspoon optional paprika
- One cup of shredded cheese (optional for topping)
Directions
- Preheat Oven: Set the oven’s temperature to 350°F (175°C).
- fry Sausage: Brown and thoroughly fry the sausage in a big skillet over medium heat. Cook the chopped onion until it becomes tender. Empty the extra grease.
- Mixing the ingredients: Put the cooked sausage and onion mixture, sour cream, eggs, milk, garlic powder, salt, pepper, paprika, and two cups of shredded cheddar cheese in a big bowl. Stir thoroughly.
- Transfer to Casserole Dish: Transfer the mixture to a 9 x 13-inch casserole dish that has been oiled. Evenly distribute it.
- Add Topping: Top with an extra cup of shredded cheese if you’d like.
- Bake: Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until the casserole is set and the top is golden brown, in a preheated oven.
- chill and Serve: Before slicing, let it chill for a few minutes. Warm up and serve.
