Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  1. In a large mixing bowl, mix the softened butter with the vegetable oil until smooth and well combined.
  2. Add the egg, powdered sugar, and vanillin, stirring until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Gradually add the corn starch, baking powder, and flour to the wet ingredients, mixing well after each addition. Start with 2 1/2 cups of flour and add more as needed until a soft dough forms. The dough should be pliable and not sticky.

  1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
  2. Bake the  cookies for about 10-12 minutes, or until they turn golden brown. As these are shortbread cookies, they bake quickly, so keep an eye on them to prevent over-browning.
  3. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 5: Decorate the Cookies
