  • At a temperature of three hundred fifty degrees Fahrenheit, preheat the oven. Prepare three circular pans measuring nine inches in diameter by greasing and flouring them.
  • To make the batter, combine the following ingredients in a large mixing bowl: flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • The dry components should be combined with the following: eggs, vegetable oil, buttermilk, and vanilla essence. For approximately two minutes, beat at a medium speed until the ingredients are thoroughly blended.
  • Once it is done, add the boiling water and whisk until the batter is complete. Nevertheless, the batter will be somewhat thin, and this is to be expected.
  • Evenly distribute the cake pans that have been prepared.
  • While the oven is preheated, bake the cakes for twenty-five to thirty minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of each cake comes out clean.
  • While the pans are cooling on the wire racks, wait ten minutes before moving them to the wire racks to finish cooling entirely.

The icing is for the
In a saucepan of medium size, the ingredients of butter, egg yolks, granulated sugar, and evaporated milk are mixed together using a whisk.

  • The mixture should be cooked over medium heat with constant stirring until it thickens, which should take around ten to twelve minutes.
  • After taking the mixture off the heat, combine it with vanilla extract, shredded coconut, and chopped pecans.
  • Before continuing with the recipe, let it cool at room temperature for a while before spreading it between the layers of cake and then on top of the cake.
  • The next step in the assembly process is to remove the cakes and frosting from the refrigerator and place one layer of each cake and icing on a serving platter.
  • A layer of frosting should be placed on the top of the initial cake layer in a careful manner.
  • Proceed with the remaining cake layers and icing, as described above.
