These handmade potato cutlets, also known as croquettes, are the perfect comfort food—they’re soft on the inside and crispy on the outside! Ingredients:
3–4 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons fresh coriander or parsley, chopped
1–2 green chilies, finely chopped (optional for heat)
1/2 teaspoon garlic paste or minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon ginger paste (optional)
1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon garam masala or curry powder
Salt, to taste
2–3 tablespoons breadcrumbs (plus more for coating)
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour or cornflour (optional, helps bind)
Oil, for shallow or deep frying
Instructions:
Mash the Potatoes:
Make sure they are smooth and lump-free.
Mix the Ingredients:
In a mixing bowl, add mashed potatoes, chopped onion, green chilies, coriander, garlic, ginger, and spices. Mix well.
Add Binder:
Add breadcrumbs and flour to help the mixture hold together. Mix until you can shape it easily.
Shape the Cutlets:
Take a small amount and shape into ovals or rounds.
Coat:
Roll each cutlet lightly in breadcrumbs for an extra crispy coating.
Fry:
Heat oil in a pan on medium heat.
