Ingredients

    • 150 ml milk
    • 6 g yeast (about 2 tsp)

    • 250 g wheat flour (about 2 cups)
    • 50 g powdered sugar (about ¼ cup)
    • ¼ tsp salt

    • 10 g milk powder (about 1 tbsp)
    • 15 g butter (about 1 tbsp)
    • 1 egg yolk (for egg wash)

  • Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)

Directions

Activate the Yeast:

    • Pour 150 ml of milk into a large bowl.
    • Add 6 g of yeast into the milk and let it activate for 5 minutes. You should see bubbles or froth, indicating that the yeast is working.

Prepare the Dough:

    • To the activated yeast mixture, add 250 g of flour50 g powdered sugar¼ tsp salt, and 10 g of milk powder.
    • Mix the ingredients well until they form a dough. Then, knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
    • Add 15 g of butter to the dough and continue kneading until the butter is fully incorporated and the dough is soft and smooth.

First Rise:

  • Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.

Shape the Dough:

    • Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently to release the air.
    • Divide the dough into 3 equal parts.

  • Shape each part of dough into a loaf or rolls, following the technique shown in the video (you can form simple round or elongated loaves, or use a loaf pan for a more classic shape).
  • Let the shaped dough rest for 15 minutes to rise again before baking.
