Irresistible cinnamon apple bread
Components:
Regarding the Bread:
- Two cups of all-purpose flour
- One teaspoon of baking soda
- Half a teaspoon baking powder
- Half a teaspoon of salt
- Ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon
- Optional: 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- Half a cup of softened unsalted butter
- One cup of sugar granules
- Two huge eggs
- One teaspoon of vanilla cream
- One cup of applesauce (or, for a chunkier texture, finely grated apple)
- Half a cup of Greek yogurt or sour cream (for moisture)
- For the Swirl of Cinnamon:
- 1/4 cup of sugar, granulated
- Ground cinnamon, two teaspoons
For Optional Topping:
- 1/4 cup of optionally chopped pecans or walnuts
- One tablespoon of coarse sugar, if desired
Directions:
- Set the oven temperature to 175°C (350°F). Line a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper or grease and flour it.
- Get the dry ingredients ready: Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a medium-sized basin. Put aside.
- Cream the sugar and butter: Beat the sugar and softened butter in a large basin until light and fluffy, about 3–4 minutes. One by one, add the eggs, beating thoroughly after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and stir.
- Add the moist components: Add the sour cream or yogurt and applesauce (or grated apple) and stir until well blended.
- Mix with dry ingredients: Add dry components to wet ingredients gradually, stirring just until incorporated. Take care not to mix too much.
- Create the cinnamon swirl by combining the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Put aside.
- Put the bread together: Fill the loaf pan with half of the batter. Over the batter, scatter half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Top with the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture after adding the remaining batter. To create a marbled effect, gently swirl the cinnamon sugar into the mixture using a butter knife.
- Optional garnish: For a crunchy garnish, scatter nuts sprinkled on top of the bread with the coarse sugar.
- Bake for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, after preheating the oven.
- Cool: After the bread has cooled in the pan for ten to fifteen minutes, move it to a wire rack to finish cooling.
Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while munching on your irresistible cinnamon apple bread! It’s ideal for dessert, a snack, or breakfast.
