Irresistible Turkish Garlic Pan Bread
This simple and delicious recipe is sure to drive the whole world crazy!
Ingredients:
- 11.5 ounces of all-purpose or bread flour (325g)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 5 fluid ounces of boiling water (150ml)
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon ground red pepper
- 1 ounce finely chopped parsley (30g)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add boiling water, crack in the egg, and mix.
- Stir in ground red pepper, chopped parsley, and olive oil.
- Knead the dough; add more flour if sticky.
- Grease a baking dish with olive oil.
- Divide the dough into 8 balls, place them in the dish, brush with olive oil, cover, and chill for 30 mins.
- Whisk together olive oil, flour, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Roll each dough ball into a 6-inch circle, brush with garlic mixture, roll into a cone, and seal.
- Return to the dish, cover, and rest for 15 mins.
- Roll each flatbread to 7 inches with a rolling pin.
- Heat a pan, oil it, and cook each flatbread for 2-3 mins on each side until golden brown.
