Ingredients:
Regarding the meatballs:
One pound of ground beef.
Half a cup of bread crumbs
1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese, grated
One egg
Two minced garlic cloves
One teaspoon of Italian spice
To taste, add salt and pepper.
Regarding the potatoes:
Four to five medium potatoes, cut thinly
One cup of cheese, either mozzarella or cheddar
Season with salt and pepper.
One teaspoon of optional paprika
Half a cup of milk or heavy cream
In order to assemble:
Marinara sauce (homemade or from the supermarket)
Directions:
Prepare the meatballs:
Set the oven’s temperature to 400°F, or 200°C.
Combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and ground meat in a bowl.
Place on a baking sheet after forming into little meatballs that are about one inch in diameter.
Bake until cooked through, about 20 minutes.
Get the potatoes ready:
Slice the potatoes thinly while the meatballs are baking.
Add paprika, salt, and pepper for seasoning. Add some cheese if you’re using heavy cream.
Put the Layers Together:
Place half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom of a baking dish that has been oiled.
Top the potatoes with half of the meatballs.
Cover the meatballs with marinara sauce.
Continue with the remaining meatballs and potatoes, adding a layer of marinara sauce at the end.
Add cheese on top:
Top with the remaining cheese.
Bake:
Bake the dish for half an hour after covering it with foil. After that, take the foil off and continue baking for another 15 to 20 minutes, or until the potatoes are soft and the cheese is golden and bubbling.
Serve:
Before serving, allow it to cool for a few minutes. Savor your meatballs and stacked potatoes!
