Ingredients
- ⅓ cup Spanish onion, chopped
- ¼ cup freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 lb cooked shrimp (peeled, deveined, tails removed, chilled)
- 2 Roma tomatoes, chopped
- 1 cucumber, finely chopped
- 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
Sauce:
- 1 cup tomato juice or Clamato
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 1–2 tbsp hot sauce (to taste)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt & black pepper to taste
Optional Add-ins:
- 1 avocado, diced
- Fresh cilantro, chopped
Instructions
1. Prepare base
- In a large bowl, combine onion and lime juice
- Let sit for 5 minutes (softens onion flavor)
2. Add vegetables
- Add tomatoes, cucumber, and celery
- Mix well
3. Add shrimp
- Add chilled shrimp to the bowl
4. Make sauce
- Pour in tomato juice, ketchup, hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce
- Season with salt and pepper
5. Mix & chill
- Stir everything together
- Refrigerate for 30–60 minutes for best flavor
6. Serve
- Add avocado and cilantro before serving
