Moringa & Soursop Leaf Wellness Tea Recipe
deeply nourishing herbal tea blends the restorative power of moringa leaves with the soothing, antioxidant-rich essence of soursop leaves. Inspired by traditional remedies and adapted for modern wellness seekers, this infusion is designed to support immunity, digestion, and relaxation. The recipe honors the transformation of fresh leaves into a healing brew—perfect for quiet mornings, post-meal digestion, or sharing with loved ones during reflective gatherings.
Moringa, often called the “miracle tree,” is packed with vitamins A, C, and E, calcium, and iron. Soursop leaves, meanwhile, are revered in many cultures for their calming and anti-inflammatory properties. Together, they create a tea that’s earthy, slightly sweet, and deeply grounding.
INGREDIENTS:
Base Ingredients:
5 fresh or dried moringa leaves (or 1 tsp dried moringa leaf powder)
3 dried soursop leaves (or 5 fresh leaves if available)
2 cups filtered water
Optional Enhancements:
1 slice fresh ginger (for warmth and digestion)
½ stick cinnamon (for blood sugar balance and flavor)
1 tsp raw honey or jaggery (optional, for sweetness)
1 tsp lemon juice (for vitamin C boost and brightness)
Serving Suggestions:
Fresh mint leaves for garnish
A slice of lemon or orange on the rim
Serve warm or chilled over ice
INSTRUCTIONS:
Prepare the Leaves:
If using fresh leaves, rinse thoroughly to remove any dust or residue.
If using dried leaves, gently crush them to release their oils but avoid powdering them completely.
Boil the Water:
In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of filtered water to a gentle boil.
Add the moringa and soursop leaves. If using ginger or cinnamon, add them now.
Simmer and Steep:
Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 10–12 minutes.
Turn off the heat and allow the tea to steep for an additional 5 minutes, covered. This helps extract the full therapeutic benefits.
Strain and Serve:
Strain the tea into a cup using a fine mesh strainer.
Add honey or jaggery if desired, and a splash of lemon juice for brightness.
Presentation:
Garnish with mint or citrus if serving to guests.
For a chilled version, let the tea cool and serve over ice with a sprig of rosemary or basil.
WELLNESS NOTES:
Immunity Boost: Moringa’s high vitamin C and iron content supports immune function and energy levels.
Anti-inflammatory: Soursop leaves contain acetogenins, which may help reduce inflammation and support cellular health.
Digestive Aid: Ginger and cinnamon enhance digestion and soothe the stomach.
Calming Ritual: This tea is ideal before bed or during stressful moments, offering a natural way to unwind
