Mouthwatering Meatball Casserole Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Meatballs:

– 600g minced meat
– 1/2 medium cabbage, finely chopped
– 1 onion, finely chopped
– 1 carrot, grated
– Salt, black pepper, and coriander to taste
– 2 cloves of garlic, minced
– Vegetable oil for frying

For the Tomato Sauce:

– 1 onion, chopped
– 2 carrots, grated
– 2 tomatoes, grated
– Salt, black pepper, and 1 tsp sugar to taste
– 6 tbsp sour cream

For Assembly:

– 1 casserole dish, greased with vegetable oil
– Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions:

1. In a large skillet, fry 1 chopped onion in vegetable oil for 2 minutes.
2. Add grated carrots and fry for another 2 minutes.
3. Stir in the finely chopped cabbage and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes. Salt to taste.
4. Remove from heat and let it cool.
5. Add minced meat, salt, black pepper, coriander, and 2 cloves of minced garlic to the cooled cabbage mixture.
6. Form the mixture into meatballs and fry them in vegetable oil until golden brown on both sides.
7. In another pan, fry 1 chopped onion for 2 minutes, then add grated carrots and simmer for another 2 minutes.
8. Grate 2 tomatoes and add them to the carrots and onions. Simmer for 10 minutes.
9. Season the sauce with salt, black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Stir in 6 tablespoons of sour cream.
10. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
11. Place the meatballs in the greased casserole dish.
12. Pour the prepared tomato sauce over the meatballs.
13. Bake for 35 minutes.
14. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve!
