INGREDIENTS REQUIRED:

2 eggs
70g sugar
45g cornstarch
500ml milk
25g butter
Pinch of vanilla (or vanilla extract)
A spoonful of instant coffee
biscuits (your choice, but something like a sponge or petit biscuit works well)
Dark chocolate (to taste, for scrubbing or melting)

METHOD OF PREPARATION:

Preparation of the cream:
In a medium saucepan, beat the eggs, sugar and cornstarch until smooth.
Gradually mix in the milk so that there are no lumps.
Place the pot over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a gentle boil. This should take about 3-5 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the butter, vanilla extract and instant coffee until well combined and smooth. The heat will melt the coffee and incorporate it into the mixture.
Layer dessert:
Choose between glasses or individual plates.
Cut the biscuits into small pieces (not too small) and spread a layer on the bottom of the plate.
Pour a layer of coffee cream over the biscuits.
Grate some dark chocolate over the cream or melt the chocolate and pour it over the top.
Repeat the layers until all the ingredients are used, and finish with a layer of cream and plenty of grated or melted chocolate.
Chill and serve:
Chill the dessert in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours or until set. This dessert is best eaten cold, because after enough cooling the taste becomes more pronounced.
If desired, you can add a little grated chocolate or sprinkle with cocoa powder for texture before serving.
Enjoy a quick and easy no-bake dessert that’s perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth without turning on the oven!
