Ingredients
2 medium okra pods (ladyfingers)
4–5 whole cloves
1 small cinnamon stick or ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder
1½–2 cups water
Optional add-ins:
1 teaspoon honey (after cooling)
½ teaspoon lemon juice
Pinch of black seeds (kalonji)
Instructions
Prepare the Okra
Wash okra thoroughly.
Cut off the ends.
Slice each pod lengthwise or into 2–3 pieces.
This helps the nutrients and soluble fibers release into the water.
Soak Overnight
Place the cut okra pieces into a glass cup.
Pour 1 cup of water over them.
Cover and let soak 6–8 hours or overnight.
By morning, the water will be slightly thick — this is the natural soluble fiber (mucilage), which is very beneficial.

Add the cloves and cinnamon.
Boil gently for 5–7 minutes.
Strain into a cup.
Combine
Add the okra water (including the gel) into the cup of warm cinnamon–clove water.
Stir well.
Add honey or lemon only after the drink is warm, not hot.

If you prefer cold, you can chill it after mixing.
Add ginger for extra digestive support.
Use Ceylon cinnamon if possible — it’s milder and safer for daily use.

People on diabetes medication should monitor sugar levels—okra + cinnamon may lower blood sugar.

Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
