Tips for Perfect Pancakes
Don’t Overmix – Stir the batter until ingredients are just combined; lumps are okay. Overmixing makes pancakes dense.
Rest the Batter – Let the batter sit for 5–10 minutes before cooking for fluffier pancakes.
Medium Heat is Best – Cook on medium heat so pancakes cook through without burning.
Flip Once – Wait until bubbles appear on the surface before flipping.
Keep Warm – Place cooked pancakes on a baking sheet in a 200°F (95°C) oven while finishing the batch.
Variations to Try
Blueberry Pancakes – Fold fresh or frozen blueberries into the batter.
Chocolate Chip Pancakes – Add mini chocolate chips for a sweet twist.
Cinnamon Swirl – Mix cinnamon and brown sugar into the batter or swirl on top before flipping.
Banana Nut – Mash a ripe banana into the batter and add chopped walnuts.
Buttermilk Pancakes – Replace milk with buttermilk for extra tang and fluffiness.
Whole Wheat Pancakes – Use half whole-wheat flour for a healthier, nutty flavor.
Savory Pancakes – Skip sugar and add herbs, cheese, or green onions for a brunch twist.
