Oregano and Lemon Tea Recipe
Parts and pieces:
- 1 fluid ounce of water
- a small handful of fresh oregano leaves or one to two tablespoons of dried oregano leaves
- Half of a lemon’s juice, or around one to two tablespoons
- Honey, to taste (optional, for sweetness), one to two teaspoons
- A pinch of ground black seed or turmeric (this is optional, but it will provide additional health benefits).
Details to follow:
- In order to boil water, bring one cup of water to a boil over low heat.
- Oregano can be added by placing the leaves of the herb in a tea infuser or by placing them directly in the water. When working with dried oregano, a teaspoon or two is typically sufficient; when working with fresh oregano, a small handful is sufficient.
- Leave the oregano in the hot water for five to ten minutes so that it can steep. By doing so, the essential oils are able to infuse, which is one of the factors that adds to the respiratory advantages of the tea.
- After removing the oregano, strain the tea and add lemon. If you are not using an infuser, you should filter the tea. The juice of half a lemon should be added.
- To sweeten and add more ingredients (optional), stir in honey to taste, and if you like, add a pinch of black seed or turmeric.
Enjoying Yourself:
- Drinking this tea in the morning to get your day started or in the evening as a warm and calming beverage is the best time to consume it. It is all right to consume it up to twice a day.
- The benefits of oregano include the presence of carvacrol and thymol, both of which are beneficial to the health of the lungs, while lemon has vitamin C, which is beneficial to the immune system.
