pan-Fried Potatoes and Onions
This is a tasty and cozy side dish made with golden, crispy potatoes and sweet, caramelized onions. It’s straightforward, filling, and simple to make, making it ideal for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Ingredients:
4 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
1 large onion, thinly sliced
3 tablespoons vegetable oil (or butter for extra flavor)
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Optional: paprika, garlic powder, or fresh herbs for extra flavor
Instructions:
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the sliced potatoes in a single layer. Cook for 5–7 minutes without stirring to let them crisp up.
Flip the potatoes and cook for another 5–7 minutes until golden brown and tender. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the sliced onions. Cook over medium-low heat for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are soft and caramelized.
Return the potatoes to the skillet with the onions. Mix gently and cook together for 2–3 minutes.
