Peanut butter balls for Christmas

Peanut butter balls for Christmas

Ingredients

For the Filling with Peanut Butter:

  1. One cup of peanut butter that is creamy
  2. Half a cup of softened unsalted butter
  3. Two cups of powdered sugar
  4. One teaspoon of vanilla extract
  5. One-fourth teaspoon of salt

Regarding the Coating:

  • Two cups of milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • One tablespoon of optional vegetable oil for smoothness
  • Crushed candy canes or sprinkles (optional; for decorating)

Directions

Prepare the filling.

  • Put the peanut butter, softened butter, salt, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a mixing dish. Blend until fully blended and smooth.
  • To make the mixture hard enough to handle, add a bit more powdered sugar if it’s too mushy.

Create the Balls:

  • Form the peanut butter mixture into tiny, one-inch-diameter balls. Put them on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
  • To firm up, place all of the formed balls in the refrigerator for around half an hour.

Melt the chocolate.

  • Put the chocolate chips and vegetable oil in a bowl that is safe to use in the microwave. Stirring occasionally, heat for 30 seconds at a time until melted and smooth.

Coat the balls of peanut butter:

  • Using a fork, remove each cooled peanut butter ball after dipping it into the melted chocolate. Let the extra chocolate fall off.
  • Return the coated balls to the baking sheet covered with paper.

Decorate:

  • If desired, garnish with crushed candy canes or sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet.

Calm down:

  • Put the peanut butter balls covered in chocolate in the refrigerator for about half an hour, or until the chocolate has set.
