Philly Quesadilla with Cheese Steak

Philly Quesadilla with Cheese Steak

Components:

  1. One pound of thinly sliced beef, such as sirloin or flank steak
  2. One tablespoon of olive oil
  3. One medium onion, cut into slices
  4. One medium-sized sliced green bell pepper
  5. Two minced garlic cloves
  6. To taste, add salt and pepper.
  7. Four big tortillas made with flour
  8. Two cups of mozzarella or provolone cheese, shredded
  9. Sliced jalapeños for heat are optional.
  10. Ranch dressing or sour cream are optional serving accompaniments.

Directions:

Prepare the veggies:

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the bell pepper and onion slices, and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, or until they are tender. After adding the minced garlic, simmer for one more minute. Add salt and pepper for seasoning. The vegetable mixture should be taken out of the skillet and placed aside.

Prepare the beef:

  • If needed, add a little more olive oil to the same skillet. After adding the thinly sliced beef, sauté it for three to five minutes, or until it is browned and thoroughly cooked. To taste, add salt and pepper.

Mix:

  • Mix everything together by adding the cooked vegetables back to the skillet with the beef. Cook until well heated, about 1 minute more.

Put the quesadillas together:

  • Place a tortilla over medium heat in the skillet. Spread part of the beef and vegetable mixture over one half of the tortilla, and then top with cheese shreds. Over the filling, fold the second half of the tortilla.

  • Cook until golden brown and the cheese begins to melt, about 3–4 minutes per side. Cook the quesadilla for a further two to three minutes after carefully flipping it over. Continue with the remaining filling and tortillas.

Serve:

  • Serve the quesadillas with your preferred dipping sauce, ranch dressing, or sour cream after slicing them into wedges.

Advice:

  • If you want more taste, feel free to add other vegetables or mushrooms.
  • Add sliced jalapeños or hot sauce to the filling for a burst of heat.
