Pizza cookie in an Air Fryer
A recipe only requires foil and no special pans, so you can make an Air Fryer Pizza cookie in a fraction of the time it takes to make an oven-baked one! This cookie features pools of melted chocolate, a crunchy shell, and an incredibly oozy inside. Add your favorite toppings to your deep dish cookie, such as vanilla bean ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate or caramel sauce.
Although this recipe is for a chocolate-chip pie, I’ll show you how to quickly change the flavors to try a different kind of cookie or multiple kinds at once.
Ingredients
- Half a cup (8 tablespoons) of melted, slightly chilled unsalted butter
- Half a cup of white powdered sugar
- Half a cup of lightly packed light brown sugar
- Half a spoonful of vanilla extract
- One huge egg
- One and a half cups of all-purpose white flour (see to Note 1)
- Half a teaspoon of baking soda
- Half a teaspoon of sea salt, fine
- One and a quarter cups of milk, dark, or semi-sweet chocolate chips (milk is our favorite)
Directions
- PREP: Make a pan the size of your air fryer insert out of two sheets of foil. To make the borders about 2 to 3 inches high, fold them up. Grease this foil “pan” liberally with nonstick cooking spray and put it aside. In order to avoid greasy pie cookies, melt the butter in the microwave and then allow it to cool to room temperature.
- WET INGREDIENTS: Whisk together the melted and cooled butter, brown sugar, and white sugar in a medium-sized bowl. Take your time until the sugar and butter are well combined. Keep whisking even though it will feel like they won’t! About one to two minutes are needed.) Pour in the vanilla and egg. Stir until incorporated. Now, preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes while it is empty. Before we add the dough, it must be quite hot.
- DRY INGREDIENTS: Mix the wet ingredients together with the flour, baking soda, and salt. Incorporate the chocolate chunks by mixing them in.
- BAKE: Transfer the smooth dough to the tin foil “pan” that has been prepared. Firmly press the dough into a single, uniform layer. Carefully flatten the tin foil pie in a uniform layer in the bottom of the hot air fryer insert after removing it. Return to the air fryer and bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 350 degrees. (We use my specific air fryer for ten minutes.)
- ENJOY: Take off the foil insert from the air fryer and transfer it to a big dish using tongs. Place ice cream straight from the air fryer in the middle. It should be fairly gooey and a little under-baked in the middle, so enjoy it right away. As a result, the Pizookie should be eaten right away after making it because it doesn’t keep well in storage.
