Recipe for Air Fryer Beef Jerky
The best method for making beef jerky at home is to use an air fryer. Easy and uncomplicated, delicious and nourishing. What’s the best part? You don’t need a dehydrator.
Ingredients
- One pound of finely cut round or sirloin beef [Note 1]
Marinade
- Worcestershire sauce, half a cup
- Half a cup of soy sauce
- One tablespoon of honey
- One teaspoon of onion powder
- Add more for a hot jerky, or leave off the ½ tsp chili flakes.
Directions
- In a bowl, combine all the marinade ingredients.
- Slices of beef should be cut into squares or strips.
- After adding the beef strips to the marinade, make sure the marinade covers every surface of the beef.
- Put the bowl in the fridge for at least three hours or overnight with a lid on.
- After removing the steak from the marinade, use paper towels to pat dry.
- Make sure the beef strips are not overlapping and arrange them in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Beef strips are air-fried until they are totally desiccated. After two hours of air fry time at 210°F (100°C), inspect the jerky. Continue air-frying it for 15 to 20 minutes at intervals until it’s done if it hasn’t dried entirely. [Note 2] It must reach 160°F/71°C.
- Allow the jerky to cool before storing it in an airtight container.
Remarks
- The maximum thickness for beef is 1/4 inch. The beef may be simpler to slice if it is partially frozen.
- To be certain, check with an instant-read meat thermometer.
