Recipe for Cooling Lemongrass Tea
Ingredients:
- Two stalks of fresh lemongrass for maximum flavor; tea bags or dried lemongrass can also be used.
For brewing, use two cups of water. - Honey or Lemon (optional): Use honey or lemon juice to add a touch of sweetness or tang.
Directions:
First, get the lemongrass ready.
- Peel off any rough outer layers to reveal the sensitive interior stalks of fresh lemongrass.
- To release the delicious oils, cut each stalk into pieces of 2-3 inches and gently crush them with the side of a knife.
Step 2: Bring to a boil
- Put the water and lemongrass pieces in a saucepan.
- Depending on your preferred strength, bring to a mild boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.
Step 3: Serve after straining
- Take the tea off the fire as soon as it reaches the strength you like.
- Pour the tea into your preferred cup after straining off the lemongrass pieces.
