Recipe for Doritos Taco Salad

Components:

Regarding the salad:

  1. One pound of ground turkey or beef
  2. One packet of taco seasoning
  3. One cup of water
  4. One cut head of iceberg lettuce
  5. Half a cup of cherry tomatoes
  6. One can (15 oz) of rinsed and drained black beans
  7. One cup of canned or frozen corn
  8. One cup of cheddar cheese, shredded
  9. One cup of chopped bell pepper, of any hue
  10. One cup of optionally sliced black olives
  11. One bag of Doritos (10–12 oz; any flavor)

Regarding the Dressing:

  • One cup of sour cream
  • Half a cup of salsa
  • One tablespoon of optional lime juice

Directions:

Prepare the beef:

  • Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until it is cooked through. Remove extra fat. Add water and taco seasoning. After mixing everything together, simmer for around five minutes.

Get the salad ready:

  • Add the bell pepper, corn, black beans, chopped lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and black olives (if using) to a large bowl. Gently toss to combine.

Put the Beef in:

  • Before adding the cooked and seasoned beef to the salad mixture, allow it to cool somewhat.

Prepare the dressing:

  • Put the lime juice, salsa, and sour cream in a small bowl. Stir thoroughly.

Put the salad together:

  • Toss the Doritos into the salad and pour over the dressing right before serving. Make sure the Doritos remain crispy by gently tossing to blend.

Serve:

  • For the ideal texture, serve right away. Have fun!

Advice:

  • You can add other toppings like avocado, jalapeños, or fresh cilantro to make it your own.
  • Although this salad is best eaten fresh, it can be kept in the refrigerator for up to a day without the Doritos. To keep the chips crunchy, add them just before serving!
