Recipe for Shrimp Alfredo Pasta

Components:

Regarding the pasta:

  1. 12 oz (340g) of your preferred pasta, such as fettuccine
  2. For pasta water, add salt.

Regarding the Shrimp:

  • One pound (450 grams) of large, peeled and deveined shrimp
  • Two teaspoons of butter
  • Two teaspoons of olive oil
  • Three minced garlic cloves
  • To taste, add salt and pepper.
  • 1/4 teaspoon of optional paprika (for added color and flavor)

Regarding the Alfredo sauce:

  • 1 1/2 cups of heavy cream
  • Half a cup of butter
  • 3/4 cup of Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • Two minced garlic cloves
  • To taste, add salt and pepper.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley or basil, if desired.

Directions:

First, prepare the pasta.

  • Bring a big saucepan of salted water to a boil in order to boil the pasta. Pasta should be cooked as directed on the package until it is al dente. After draining, set away.

Cook the shrimp in step two.

  • Shrimp are sautéed by heating the butter and olive oil in a big skillet over medium heat. Cook the minced garlic for around 30 seconds until it becomes fragrant.
  • To prepare the shrimp, put them in the skillet. Add paprika (if using) and salt and pepper for seasoning. Cook until the shrimp are opaque and pink, about 2 to 3 minutes per side. After taking the shrimp out of the skillet, place them aside.

Create the Alfredo sauce in step three.

  • Melt the Butter: Heat the butter in the same skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the Cream: Bring the liquid to a gentle simmer after stirring in the heavy cream and minced garlic. Cook until it starts to slightly thicken, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Add the Parmesan: Whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese gradually, stirring constantly, until the sauce is smooth and creamy. To taste, add salt and pepper.

Step 4: Mix the sauce, pasta, and shrimp.

  • Pasta Toss: Toss the cooked pasta in the Alfredo sauce to ensure it is uniformly coated.
  • Stir the cooked shrimp into the pasta and sauce with a gentle touch.

Step 5: Present and Garnish

  • Garnish: If preferred, top with additional Parmesan cheese and optional fresh parsley or basil.
  • Serve: While the dish is still warm and creamy, serve it right away.

Advice:

  • Shrimp Substitute: If you don’t have shrimp on hand, you can substitute chicken or another seafood.
  • Lighter Option: To make a lighter sauce, use milk or half-and-half instead of heavy cream, although the consistency will be less rich.
  • Vegetables: For added color and nutrients, add steaming peas, spinach, or broccoli.
