Rings of air-fried onions
Ingredients
One large sweet onion, cut into rings and sliced into ½” pieces
Half a cup of all-purpose flour
Panko breadcrumbs, one cup
One teaspoon of ordinary or smoked paprika
One teaspoon of salt
Half a teaspoon of optional garlic powder
Two eggs
Half a cup of buttermilk
Spray for cooking
Directions
An assembly line is what you’re going to create. Put the flour on a flat plate first.
Next, combine panko, paprika, garlic powder, and salt in a bowl with a wide mouth.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and eggs.
For four to five minutes, preheat your air fryer to 370 degrees.
Sliced onion rings should be prepared by blotting them dry with a paper towel.
Dip each ring in flour, then in the egg-buttermilk mixture, and finally in the panko crumbs that have been seasoned.
Put the onion rings in the cooking oil-sprayed basket of the air fryer. Give the onion rings a good spraying, then fry for 9 to 11 minutes. To ensure that there is adequate space between the rings for even browning, you will need to cook in batches.
Serve with your preferred dipping sauce or ketchup.
