Sausage and Cream Cheese-Filled Baked Pastries (Air Fryer)
Ingredients:
1/2 lb (225g) ground sausage (pork, turkey, or chicken)
4 oz (115g) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for extra cheesy goodness)
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
Salt & pepper to taste
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1 egg (for egg wash)
Optional: chopped green onions or jalapeños for extra flavor
Instructions:
Cook the Sausage Filling:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until fully browned and crumbled.
Drain excess grease, then let it cool slightly.
In a bowl, mix the cooked sausage with cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and shredded cheddar (if using). Stir until creamy and well combined.
Prepare the Pastry:
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
Cut into squares or rectangles (about 3×3 inches or whatever size you like).
Add a spoonful of sausage mixture to the center of each square.
Fold over into a triangle or rectangle and press the edges with a fork to seal.
Egg Wash:
Beat the egg and brush it over the top of each pastry for a golden finish.
Air Frying:
Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
Place pastries in the basket (don’t overcrowd; work in batches).
Air fry for 8–10 minutes, or until golden brown and puffy.
Serving Ideas:
Serve warm as an appetizer, breakfast bite, or party snack.
Great with a side of honey mustard, spicy mayo, or ranch.
