Crescent Bites with Savory Sausage and Cream Cheese are buttery, flaky, and completely stuffed with a savory sausage filling that is rich and creamy. The irresistible snackability of these treats makes them ideal for social gatherings, brunches, game days, and holiday appetizers.
Ingredients (Makes ~24 bites):
1 lb ground breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)
8 oz cream cheese, softened
2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
1/4 tsp black pepper
Optional: chopped green onions or shredded cheddar (for extra flavor)
Instructions:
Cook the sausage:
In a skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage until fully cooked.
Drain excess grease and let it cool slightly.
Make the filling:
In a bowl, mix the warm sausage with cream cheese, garlic powder, and pepper until fully combined.
Optional: stir in 1/4 cup shredded cheese or 2 tbsp chopped green onion.
Prepare the dough:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles (or keep as rectangles for pinwheels).
Two Shape Options:
Triangle Rolls:
Place 1 heaping tbsp of sausage mixture on the wide end of each triangle.
Roll up like a crescent roll, starting from the wide end.
Place on a baking sheet, seam-side down.
Pinwheel Style (for rectangle dough):
Spread sausage mixture over the entire dough rectangle.
Roll into a log from the long side, then slice into 1-inch pieces.
Arrange on baking sheet, cut-side up.
Bake:
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
