Sausage Dipped Pancakes (Air Fryer Recipe)

Juicy breakfast sausage links are dipped in fluffy pancake batter, then air-fried to golden perfection. Unlike deep-fried versions, these air fryer pancake dogs are crispy outside, soft inside, and healthier too. Pair them with syrup or fruit for a fun breakfast everyone will love!
Ingredients (Makes 8)
8 breakfast sausage links (pork, beef, or chicken – fully cooked or pre-cooked)
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
¾ cup buttermilk (or milk + 1 tsp vinegar)
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
2 tbsp melted butter or oil
Toothpicks or small skewers (optional for handling)
Instructions
Preheat & Prep Sausages (5 minutes)
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
If using uncooked sausages, air fry them first at 375°F for 6–8 minutes, turning halfway, until fully cooked. Let cool slightly.
Insert skewers or toothpicks into sausages if using.
Make Pancake Batter (5 minutes)
In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, mix buttermilk, egg, vanilla, and melted butter.
Combine wet and dry ingredients just until smooth (don’t overmix). Batter should be thick but pourable.
Dip & Air Fry (10–12 minutes)
Lightly grease the air fryer basket with oil spray or parchment liner.
Dip each sausage link into the pancake batter, coating it well.
Tip: Use a tall glass for dipping to cover the whole sausage.
Carefully place dipped sausages in the air fryer basket.
Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and fully cooked.
Serving Suggestions
Serve warm with maple syrup for dipping.
Add a dusting of powdered sugar for a sweet touch.
