Shrimp with Garlic

Shrimp with Garlic

Ingredients

  1. One pound of large, deveined and peeled shrimp
  2. Four tablespoons of unsalted butter or olive oil
  3. Four minced garlic cloves
  4. Half a teaspoon of optional red pepper flakes (for heat)
  5. To taste, add salt and pepper.
  6. One tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice
  7. One tablespoon of freshly chopped parsley (for garnish)
  8. slices of lemon (for serving)

Directions

  • Heat the Oil: Put the butter or olive oil in a big skillet and heat it to a medium temperature.
  • Cook the Garlic: Put the red pepper flakes (if using) and minced garlic in the skillet. Take care not to burn the garlic while you sauté it for approximately a minute, or until fragrant.
  • Add the Shrimp: Arrange the shrimp in a single layer in the skillet. Add salt and pepper for seasoning. Cook until pink, 2 to 3 minutes on one side.
  • Flip the Shrimp: Cook the shrimp for a further two to three minutes, or until they are opaque and cooked through.
  • Lemon Finish: Turn off the heat and add the lemon juice to the skillet. If necessary, taste and adjust the seasoning.
  • Garnish and Serve: Serve right away with lemon wedges on the side and sprinkle with fresh parsley.

Advice:

  • Serve with crusty bread to mop up the flavorful garlic sauce, or over rice or pasta.
  • For added color and nutrients, include vegetables like spinach or cherry tomatoes!
  • Savor your mouthwatering garlic shrimp!
