Ingredients

  1. Three huge potatoes
  2. One tablespoon of high-heat oil, such as olive oil
  3. One teaspoon of salt, or to taste

Directions

  • Using a sharp knife or a mandolin (which is advised), thinly slice the potatoes. To get rid of the starch, wash the potato slices and soak them in cold water for at least half an hour.
  • After draining and thoroughly patting dry, arrange the potatoes in a single layer on a paper towel and let them air dry for ten minutes. (To achieve crispy and crunchy chips, the potato slices must be thoroughly dried.)
  • Add salt and oil to the potato pieces.
  • Set the air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius) for five minutes. Avoid packing the air fryer basket too full of potato slices.
  • Cook until crispy, about 8 minutes.
  • Once cooled, serve or store in an airtight container for later use.
