Slow Cooker Chicken and Gravy

Table of Contents

Ingredients:

2 lbs (900 g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup

1 packet (1 oz) chicken gravy mix

1 cup chicken broth

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon dried thyme

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Mashed potatoes, rice, or biscuits, for serving

How to proceed:

The chicken should be placed inside the slow cooker.

The cream of chicken soup, chicken gravy mix, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and dried thyme should be mixed together in a mixing basin using a whisk. The mixture should be poured over the chicken.

On top of the chicken and sauce, spread the butter that has not been salted.

To ensure that the chicken is tender and can be easily shredded, cover it and cook it on low for six to eight hours or on high for three to four hours.

After the chicken has finished cooking, shred it immediately in the slow cooker using two forks, and make sure to thoroughly combine it with the gravy.

There are three options for serving the chicken and gravy: biscuits, mashed potatoes, or rice. A burst of freshness can be achieved by garnishing with chopped parsley.
