Soft Condensed Milk Rolls in Air Fryer
Fluffy, buttery, and slightly sweet rolls made with condensed milk and baked to perfection in the air fryer!
Prep: 15 mins
Rise Time: 1 hr
Cook: 12–15 mins
Yield: 9–12 rolls
Ingredients:
2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp instant yeast
¼ cup sweetened condensed milk
2 tbsp sugar
½ tsp salt
1 large egg
¾ cup warm milk (about 110°F / 43°C)
3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
Optional topping:
1 tbsp melted butter
1 tbsp condensed milk (for brushing after baking)
Instructions
Activate Yeast (Optional if using instant yeast) – 5 mins
If using active dry yeast, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–7 mins until foamy.
Mix the Dough – 5 mins
In a large bowl:
Add flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar.
Mix in egg and sweetened condensed milk.
Slowly add the warm milk (or yeast mixture) and softened butter.
Knead until smooth and elastic (by hand or mixer), about 7–10 minutes.
First Rise – 1 hour
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a clean towel.
Let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, about 60 minutes.
Shape the Rolls – 10 mins
Punch down the dough. Divide into 9–12 equal portions.
Shape into smooth balls and place in a lightly greased air fryer-safe baking pan (or parchment-lined basket if your air fryer allows).
Tip: Leave space between each dough ball for rising and expansion.
Second Rise – 20–30 mins
Let the shaped rolls rest covered until puffed up.
Air Fryer Baking Instructions
Preheat air fryer to 320°F (160°C) – 3 mins
(Some models skip this, but it improves even baking.)
Bake the Rolls – 12 to 15 mins
Place the pan with risen rolls into the air fryer basket.
Bake at 320°F (160°C) for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
Rotate the pan halfway through if your air fryer heats unevenly.
Finishing Touch
While still warm, brush rolls with melted butter + a drizzle of condensed milk for that shiny, sweet top.
Storage
Store at room temp in an airtight container for 2 days.
Warm up in air fryer at 300°F (150°C) for 2–3 mins before serving.
Tips:
Want extra softness? Add 1 tbsp milk powder to the flour.
Use a round cake pan or a silicone mold that fits in your air fryer basket.
For a savory twist, skip the condensed milk topping and serve with soup or butter.
