Softest and Most Delicious Burger Buns

Ingredients:

Buns:

  • 3/4 cup lukewarm water
  • 2 tblspns butter, at room temperature
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 cup normal white sugar
  • 1 1/4 tspns fine salt
  • 1 tblspn instant yeast

Topping:

  • 1 egg with 1/4 cup water
  • sesame seeds
Method:
  1. Add the water and yeast into a bowl. Mix and leave for about 5 minutes.
  2. Mix and knead all of the dough ingredients to make a soft, smooth dough. (including the water and yeast)
  3. Cover the dough, and let it rise for 1 to 2 hours.
  4. Gently deflate the dough, and divide it into 8 pieces. Shape each piece into a round ball. Place the buns on a lightly greased or parchment-lined baking sheet, cover, and let it rise for about an hour, until noticeably puffy.
  5. Brush the buns with the beaten egg and water, sprinkle the sesame seeds onto the tops and bake the buns in a preheated 180°C oven for 15 to 18 minutes, until golden brown.
  6. Remove them from the oven.
  7. Cool the buns on a rack and enjoy your delicious burger bun !!!
