Strawberry Shortcake Crunch Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

Strawberry Shortcake Crunch Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

Rich, tangy, and creamy, cheese frosting—also known as cream cheese frosting—goes well with cakes, cupcakes, and even cookies. To prepare this traditional frosting, use this easy recipe:

Components:

  1. 225g (8 oz) softened cream cheese
  2. Half a cup (115g) of softened unsalted butter
  3. 3–4 cups of powdered sugar, adjusted for consistency and sweetness.
  4. One teaspoon of vanilla cream
  5. An optional pinch of salt

Directions:

1. Get the butter and cream cheese ready:

  • Make sure the butter and cream cheese have melted to room temperature. They will combine more easily and produce a creamy texture as a result.

2. Beat the butter and cream cheese:

  • Using a stand mixer or electric mixer set to medium speed, combine the butter and softened cream cheese in a large mixing basin. Beat for two to three minutes, or until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.

3. Include salt and vanilla:

  • If using, add a touch of salt and the vanilla extract. Beat till blended.

4. Include the powdered sugar.

  • To prevent a sugar cloud, gradually add 1 cup of powdered sugar at a time while mixing on low speed. Increase the speed to medium-high and beat until smooth and creamy after each addition.
  • Depending on how thick or sweet you want your frosting, change the amount of powdered sugar. Add a teaspoon or two of milk or cream to thin it out if it gets too thick.

5. Last Mix:

  • Make sure everything is well blended by giving the frosting one last stir after all the sugar has been added and it is smooth.

6. Apply the Frosting:

  • Frost your cakes, cupcakes, or cookies right away using the cream cheese frosting. It’s ideal for sandwiching between cake layers as well.

Advice:

  • For a richer, more tangy frosting, use full-fat cream cheese.
  • Increase the amount of powdered sugar until the required consistency is achieved for thicker frosting.
  • To make it lighter: Beat the frosting for an additional minute or two if you prefer a lighter, fluffier texture.
  • Variations in flavor: If desired, you can add a dash of cinnamon or citrus zest (such as lemon or orange) for added flavor.

Carrot cake, red velvet cake, cinnamon buns, and more go well with this cheese icing. Have fun!
