 Ingredients

For the Burger Patties:

1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)

½ tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp onion powder

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

For the Mushroom Topping:

1 tbsp butter

1 cup mushrooms (sliced, any variety)

½ tsp garlic (minced)

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp black pepper

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Other Ingredients:

4 slices Swiss cheese

4 brioche or hamburger buns

1 tbsp mayonnaise (optional, for bun spread)

 Instructions

 Prepare the Burger Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently—don’t overwork the meat!

Divide into four equal patties, slightly larger than the buns (they shrink when cooked).

  • Use your thumb to make a small indent in the center of each patty to prevent puffing.

Cook the Patties in the Air Fryer

Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.

Place the patties in a single layer in the air fryer basket.

Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.

 Sauté the Mushrooms

While the patties cook, heat butter in a pan over medium heat.

Add mushrooms, garlic, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.

Sauté for 5 minutes until mushrooms are golden and tender. Set aside.

 Melt the Swiss Cheese

Once the patties are done, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty.

Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts.

Assemble the Swiss Mushroom Melt

Toast the buns in the air fryer for 1-2 minutes at 350°F (175°C).

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun (optional).

Place the cheesy burger patty, top with sautéed mushrooms, and cover with the top bun.

 Tips & Tricks

Want extra juiciness? Add a splash of beef broth to the patties.

Love crispy mushrooms? Air fry them at 350°F for 5 minutes instead of pan-frying.

For a gourmet touch, spread garlic butter on the buns before toasting.

Want a low-carb version? Serve on lettuce wraps instead of buns.
