Tacos with ground beef

Ingredients

  1. One pound of ground beef
  2. One little onion, diced finely
  3. Two minced garlic cloves
  4. One taco seasoning packet (or make your own)
  5. Two-thirds cup of water
  6. To taste, add salt and pepper.
  7. tortillas or taco shells (soft or firm)
  8. Extra toppings are optional.
  9. Shredded lettuce
  10. Tomato dice
  11. Shredded cheese, either Mexican blend or cheddar
  12. Sour cream
  13. Salsa
  14. Guacamole or avocado
  15. Chopped cilantro

Directions

Prepare the beef:

  • Ground beef and diced onion should be added to a large skillet over medium heat. Simmer for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the beef is browned and the onions are tender. Drain any extra fat.

Add the seasoning and garlic:

  • Stir the taco spice and minced garlic into the meat mixture for approximately one minute, or until aromatic.

Pour in some water:

  • Bring to a simmer after adding the water. Lower the heat and cook, stirring periodically, until the sauce thickens slightly, about 5 minutes. If necessary, taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper.

Get the taco shells ready:

  • As the steak cooks, reheat the tortillas or taco shells according the directions on the package.

Put Tacos Together:

  • Fill each taco shell with the spiced meat mixture using a spoon. Add your preferred toppings on top.

Serve:

  • Serve right away, accompanied with additional toppings!

Advice:

  • Try using lean ground chicken or turkey for a healthier choice.

A pinch of salt, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, chili powder, and cumin can be combined to create your own homemade spice.
