Taquitos Air Fried Pan Fried or Baked: These crunchy homemade tacos, also known as rolled tacos, are created with corn tortillas, spiced shredded beef (you can also use chicken or pork instead of beef), and the tastiest toppings. These are guaranteed to become your new go-to dish and can be baked or fried!
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef or chicken
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 8-10 corn tortillas
- oil, for frying (if pan-frying or deep-frying
Directions:
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or chicken over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain the excess fat, if any.
- Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until softened.
- Stir in the chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.
- Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheese.
- Preheat your Air Fryer to 400F or preheat the oven to 425F if you’re planning to bake them.
- Take a corn tortilla and add 2 tablespoons of the meat mixture to the center. Roll the tortilla tightly around the filling, tucking in the ends to seal.
- Repeat the process with the remaining tortillas and meat mixture.
Air Fryer Method:
- Once the Air Fryer is preheated, add the taquitos in a single layer and cook for 8-10 minutes or until crispy and golden brown.
Pan Fry Method:
In a large skillet over medium heat, add oil and wait until hot. Add the taquitos and cook for 2-3 minutes per side or until crispy and golden brown.
Baked Method :
Place the taquitos on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spray lightly with oil and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown.
Serve the taquitos hot with your favorite toppings such as guacamole, sour cream, salsa, or cilantro.
