The Best Air Fryer Mushrooms and Onions Recipe

This sauteed air fryer mushrooms and onions recipe is the perfect side dish or appetizer. Mushrooms and onions are a classic combination, and they’re even better when they’re cooked in the air fryer and make a great topping for just about any dish.

Ingredients

Table of Contents

  • 8 oz. mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced. Vidalia, sweet onion, yellow onion or red onion are my top choices.
  • 1.5 tablespoon of olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • ¼ teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 Tablespoons Worchestershire sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced. Or a teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon seasoning of choice. I used Vegeta Gourmet all-purpose seasoning.

Instructions

  1. Rinse and pat dry mushrooms. I prefer Baby Bella or Portobello mushrooms. Slice bellas in halves or thirds
  2. Cut onions to the preferred size.
  3. In a large bowl, mix sliced onions and mushrooms with olive oil, salt and pepper to taste, garlic, seasoning and Worchestershire sauce.
  4. Next, add the mushrooms and onions to the basket and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they’re golden brown and tender.
  5. Air fryer mode 400F/200C 10 minutes, stirring 2 times in between, to insure both mushrooms and onions cook evenly.
  6. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce or as a side dish. Enjoy!
