This sauteed air fryer mushrooms and onions recipe is the perfect side dish or appetizer. Mushrooms and onions are a classic combination, and they’re even better when they’re cooked in the air fryer and make a great topping for just about any dish.
Ingredients
- 8 oz. mushrooms, sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced. Vidalia, sweet onion, yellow onion or red onion are my top choices.
- 1.5 tablespoon of olive oil
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- ¼ teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 Tablespoons Worchestershire sauce
- 2 garlic cloves, minced. Or a teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon seasoning of choice. I used Vegeta Gourmet all-purpose seasoning.
Instructions
- Rinse and pat dry mushrooms. I prefer Baby Bella or Portobello mushrooms. Slice bellas in halves or thirds
- Cut onions to the preferred size.
- In a large bowl, mix sliced onions and mushrooms with olive oil, salt and pepper to taste, garlic, seasoning and Worchestershire sauce.
- Next, add the mushrooms and onions to the basket and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they’re golden brown and tender.
- Air fryer mode 400F/200C 10 minutes, stirring 2 times in between, to insure both mushrooms and onions cook evenly.
- Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce or as a side dish. Enjoy!
