Traditional Banana Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
- three mashed, ripe bananas
- 115g (½ cup) melted unsalted butter
- One cup of granulated sugar (200g)
- One huge egg that has been beaten
- One teaspoon of vanilla extract
- One teaspoon of baking soda
- Half a teaspoon of salt
- 190g, or 1½ cups, of all-purpose flour
- Optional: 75g (½ cup) of chocolate chips or chopped nuts
Directions:
- Set the oven temperature to 175°C (350°F). Coat a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan with oil.
- Combine the melted butter and mashed bananas in a big bowl and stir to blend.
- Add the vanilla extract, sugar, and beaten egg and stir.
- Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt in a another basin. Add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture gradually, stirring just until incorporated. Add chocolate chips or nuts, if using.
- After the loaf pan is ready, pour the batter into it and level the top.
- A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean after baking for 60 to 65 minutes.
- After letting the bread cool in the pan for ten or so minutes, move it to a wire rack to finish cooling.
