Twix Cookies

Components:

Regarding the Cookie Base:

  1. One cup softened unsalted butter
  2. 3/4 cup of sugar, granulated
  3. 3/4 cup of dense brown sugar
  4. One big egg
  5. One tsp vanilla essence
  6. 2 1/4 cups flour for all purposes
  7. One tsp baking soda
  8. Half a teaspoon of salt

Regarding the Caramel Layer

  • One cup of homemade or store-bought caramel sauce
  • About 3–4 chopped Twix bars make up 1/2 cup.

Regarding the Chocolate Garnish:

  • One cup of chocolate chips, semi-sweet
  • Two tablespoons of vegetable oil—optional for a chocolate that goes smoother—

Guidelines:

Warm up the oven:

  • Adjust the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and place parchment paper on a baking pan.

Prepare the Dough for the Cookies:

  • Beat the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and melted butter until frothy and light in a big basin.
  • Blend the egg and vanilla essence until thoroughly blended.
  • Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Mixing until just incorporated, gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ones.

Prepare the Cookies for Baking:

  • Drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet in tablespoon-sized portions, about 2 inches apart. Gently press them down with your hand’s palm.
  • Bake for ten to twelve minutes, until a light golden colour appears around the edges. Take them out of the oven and allow them rest for a few minutes on the baking sheet, then move them to a wire rack to cool down entirely.

Layer on the Caramel:

  • After the cookies cool fully, spread or drizzle each one with a tablespoon or so of caramel sauce. Over the caramel layer, scatter the chopped Twix bars.

Prepare the Chocolate Garnish:

  • Melt the chocolate chips in 30-second increments in a microwave-safe basin, stirring in between, until smooth. For a smoother consistency, mix in the vegetable oil, if using.
  • With a fork or piping bag, drizzle the melted chocolate over the cookies.

Assemble and Present:

  • Let the chocolate solidify before presenting it. If you would want the cookies to harden faster, you can put them in the refrigerator.

Advice:

  • Add some crumbled pretzels or nuts to the caramel layer for an added crunch.
  • You may taste and modify the amount of chocolate and caramel to your preferred consistency and flavour!
