  • Cook Time  10 mins
  • Total Time 15  mins

    Ingredients

    • 4 medium apples
    • 8 caramel squares
    • ¼ cup butter melted
    • ¼ cup brown sugar
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla

      Instructions

      1. In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla, set aside.
      2. Place apples on a cutting board. Using a small sharp knife, carefully cut the top of each apple off and then use a melon baller to scoop out the center of each apple to remove the core and seeds. Leaving a bit of room at the bottom of each apple, and do not cut all the way through.
      3. Make two round cuts in the apple center with a paring knife. Then turn the apple upside down.
      4. Cut downward starting about a ¼ inch from the base of the apple to create 6-8 slices of apple.
      5. Flip it over and it will look like a flower blooming.
      6. Fill the center of the apple with caramel bites. Use a spoon or pastry brush to coat the outside of the apples and the inside of each separate petal with a mixture of sugar and butter.
      7. Spray the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray and place apples inside at 350 degrees F for 10-12 minutes. Keep a close watch on apples during cooking time so they turn out softened to your preference. Best when served warm or immediately if possible.
