Baked Potato Recipe
This recipe creates perfectly baked potatoes with fluffy insides and crisp skins.
Ingredients:
- 4 Russet potatoes (medium size)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
Optional:
- Black pepper
- Garlic powder
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Scrub the potatoes clean with running water and pat them dry with a paper towel
- Use a fork to prick each potato several times all over.
- Rub the potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle generously with kosher salt. You can also add black pepper or garlic powder for extra flavor at this point.
- Place the potatoes directly on a baking sheet or on a wire rack set over a baking sheet (this allows for more even cooking).
- Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork and the skins are crisp.
- Remove the potatoes from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before cutting them open.
- Fluff the inside of the potato with a fork and serve with your favorite toppings.
