Beef Cheese Wrap (Beef Burrito) Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Beef Filling:
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp chopped garlic
- 1/2 kg beef mince
- 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 2 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp red chili flakes
- 2-3 tbsp sriracha sauce or hot sauce
For the Sour Cream:
- 150ml cream
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2-3 tbsp milk
For the Salad:
- 1/2 cup red cabbage
- Lettuce leaves
- 1/2 cup carrot, julienned
- 1/2 cup boiled corn
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- Pickled red jalapenos (optional)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
For Assembling:
- Tortillas
- Grated mozzarella and cheddar cheese
- Butter (for cooking)
Instructions:
- Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan. Add chopped garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Add the beef mince and cook until it starts to brown.
- Season the beef with 1 tsp of salt, 2 tsp of red chili powder, 1 tsp of red chili flakes, and 2-3 tbsp of sriracha sauce (or hot sauce). Cook until the beef is fully cooked and well seasoned. Set aside.
- For the sour cream, mix 150ml of cream with 1 tbsp of lemon juice and 2-3 tbsp of milk until it reaches a creamy consistency. Set aside.
- In a bowl, combine 1/2 cup of red cabbage, lettuce leaves, 1/2 cup of julienned carrot, 1/2 cup of boiled corn, 1/2 cup of chopped onion, and optional pickled red jalapenos. Season with 1 tbsp of lemon juice, 1/2 tsp of salt, and 1/2 tsp of black pepper powder. Toss well.
- To assemble the wraps, warm the tortillas in a dry pan or skillet.
- Lay out a tortilla, spread a generous amount of the beef filling, top with the salad mixture, drizzle with sour cream, and sprinkle with grated mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
- Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll it up tightly to form a wrap.
- Heat a little butter in a skillet and place the wrap seam-side down. Cook until it’s golden brown and the cheese has melted.
