Serving and Storage Tips:
Serving Suggestions:
Serve the Creamy Corn Casserole warm as a side dish with your preferred entree. Grilled chicken goes perfectly with it while roasted turkey or baked ham will also work well along with this creamy casserole.
Garnish with minced fresh spices such as parsley or onion for a bright touch of color plus more taste.
To make it a complete meal, have the casserole with a side salad or steamed vegetables.
Portioning:
Cut the casserole into pieces/cubes/sections for easy serving. Use a good knife to get clean cuts that don’t mess up.
Think of serving the casserole in individual ramekins/small baking dishes to add style for instance at formal dinners.
Storage Instructions:
Always let any leftover casserole cool completely before storage.
Either transfer the remaining amount of the dish to an air tight container or tightly wrap the top part of the baking dish with plastic paper or aluminum foil.
Keep in fridge for three days!
Reheating:
Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C) then put your food in it until hot again.
Put your food inside an oven-safe bowl and cover it with foil paper so as not to dry out.
Put it into its oven proof dish and cover with foil before cooking on moderate heat for approximately 15 minutes till warm throughout.
Conversely, warm up each single part in the microwave for one to two minutes.
Tips for Success:
Ensure Properly Drained Corn: Before adding the corn to the casserole mixture, make sure to drain it well. The extra moisture from canned corn can cause a wetter casserole which may affect its texture. Make use of a colander for thorough draining of the corn and if necessary pat it dry with paper towel.
Adjust Seasoning to Taste: Taste the casserole mixture before baking and adjust the seasoning according to your preferences. If you prefer a saltier flavor, add more salt. For some heat, you can sprinkle in black pepper or even give it a kick by putting in a pinch of cayenne pepper. Don’t hesitate to try different things until you achieve that perfect balance.
Broil for a Crispy Top: After baking the casserole for the recommended time, if you desire a crispy top layer, switch your oven to the broil setting. Place under broiler and keep an eye on it so as not burn it when getting few minutes browns top of casseroles giving them an appetising mouth feel.
