Description
Slow Cooker Bacon-Wrapped Chicken is a rich, savory dish that combines juicy chicken breasts with smoky bacon and a sweet-savory glaze. Cooking it in the slow cooker keeps the chicken incredibly tender while allowing the bacon flavor to soak into the meat. The glaze—made with brown sugar, garlic, and a touch of soy sauce—creates a delicious caramelized coating that makes every bite irresistible. This recipe is perfect for busy days because it requires very little prep time. Simply wrap, mix the sauce, and let the slow cooker do the work. Serve it with rice, roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad for a comforting and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
8 slices bacon
½ cup brown sugar
¼ cup soy sauce
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
1 tablespoon water (if thickening sauce)
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the chicken
Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season lightly with black pepper and smoked paprika.
2. Wrap with bacon
Wrap each chicken breast with two slices of bacon, making sure the bacon overlaps slightly so it stays in place. If needed, secure with toothpicks.
3. Make the glaze
In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, and Dijon mustard until well combined.
4. Arrange in the slow cooker
Lightly grease the slow cooker with cooking spray or oil. Place the bacon-wrapped chicken inside in a single layer.
5. Add the sauce
Pour the prepared glaze evenly over the chicken, making sure each piece is coated.
6. Cook
Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
7. Optional sauce thickening
If you want a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Stir it into the slow cooker during the last 15 minutes of cooking.
8. Serve
Carefully remove toothpicks if used. Spoon the flavorful sauce over the chicken and garnish with fresh parsley.
Serving Tips
Serve this bacon-wrapped chicken over fluffy rice, creamy mashed potatoes, or buttered noodles. The rich sauce also pairs beautifully with roasted broccoli, green beans, or asparagus. Leftovers store well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and can be reheated gently for another delicious meal. 🍗🥓
