Flan Cake Recipe Easy and Delicious
Caramel Syrup:
- 3/4 cup sugar (150g)
- 1/4 cup water (60ml)
Flan:
Whisk together:
- 4 whole eggs (55-60g each)
- 1 cup condensed milk (300g)
- 1 1/2 cups milk (375ml)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (5ml)
Sponge Cake:
In a separate bowl, mix:
- 4 egg yolks
- 1/4 cup sugar (50g)
- 1/4 cup oil (60ml)
- 1/4 cup milk (60ml)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (5ml)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (125g)
- 1 tsp baking powder (5g)
- 1/2 tsp salt (3g)
- Beat 4 egg whites with 1 tsp lemon juice or cream of tartar until frothy.
- Gradually add 1/3 cup sugar (65g) to egg whites, beating until stiff peaks form.
Assembly:
- Pour caramel syrup into a cake pan and swirl to coat.
- Carefully pour the flan mixture over the syrup.
- Gently spoon the sponge cake mixture on top.
Baking:
- Place the cake pan in a larger pan filled with hot water to create a water bath.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50-60 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let it cool, then refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.
Serve:
- Invert the cake onto a serving plate, allowing the caramel to drizzle over the flan. Slice and enjoy your delicious Flan Cake!
